Text is really, really important.
Check your spelling, and read
through the text. Preferably ask someone else to read through it too. If you've
spent a long time working on something you'll probably be completely oblivious
to any major errors in it. Stick to either english or american english spellings.
If you're using software with a spell checker then use it! Its the words which
hook people, and words which sell.
Using text to turn visitors into
customers

Time to think about your visitor now
Don't think of thousands of visitors.
Think of one. Who is your ideal visitor? You need to treat your visitor as an
individual. Now think of your AIM. What services, product or help are you offering?
Now combine your visitor and your AIM. What can your site do for your visitor?
How can your site help your customer? How can you visitor benefit from your site?
Benefit your visitor
What can your site do for your visitor,
and how will this benefit them? The benefits have to be unique to your site. What
is the biggest benefit? This is the crux of your site. What sets you apart from
other sites. Now can you sum this up in a few words? Thats your headline. Take
other benefits as sub-headings, write about the benefits for that one special
visitor. Using subheadings will pull your visitor down the page and further into
the site. If you've done this, then that visitor is on the way to becoming a customer.
