Professional Marketing
Boost your business

When you've built the perfect site you can have a quick rest - before starting on the even harder task of getting visitors to your site.

Getting good levels of Traffic to your site is important. Once you've submitted to the search engines you have to monitor where you come in their listings and make small (or large) tweaks until you get good placement.

A lot of traffic can be got from search engines - and you can almost guarantee traffic if you sign up with the search engines which allow you to bid for keywords, such as Goto.com.

If you've ever used goto.com you'll have noticed that there's a small piece of writing under the description tag which says "cost to advertiser $x.xx". Thats how much that site is paying each time you click on that link. It also offers an indication of how "valuable" that keyword is - the more competition for each keyword the more expensive it is likely to be.
Not every site listed will have a cost - it does totally depend on keyword popularity.

Consider setting up an account with Goto.com - the minimum spend is $25 - but if you bid low prices on keywords (relevant of course) then you could actually get quite a lot of traffic to your site. If you take part in this scheme make sure you monitor how successful you are ... there's no point paying for advertising if no one buys anything when they get to your site.

There are many other ways of getting traffic to your site. One way would be to create an E-book from some of your content and give it away free. Freebies are loved by just about everyone and you could have plenty of links to your site and products in an e-book.

Alternatively you could give something real away, or have a competition! There are plenty of sites listing competitions and freebies which you could drop an email to mention your quiz. You should put limits on the amount of goodies you're going to give away ... perhaps have a set amount every day (that'd certainly get repeat visits from people wanting to sign up for your freebie.) and don't forget to calculate postage costs too.

Develop a newsletter which can be sent out to subscribers on a regular basis. If your content rich site is good then people will assume that the same level of quality will occur in your newsletter and sign up. By reminding people that you exist you'll get more people remembering your name and revisiting. Don't ever forget the importance of repeat visits.
